Logan first meets Mystique in Mexico in 1921, where they are both about to be executed by a firing squad. Although Logan does not realize it at the time, Chang is an employee of the agency known as Landau, Luckman, and Lake, with which Logan will become very familiar in later years. In China, Logan meets Chang, a Chinese businessman with whom he shares undisclosed adventures. Logan travels for an indeterminate number of years. Logan learns that Seraph has appointed herself the guardian of Madripoor against the Hand, an ancient order of mystic assassins. Logan makes many other friends on Madripoor, most notably the prostitute Madame Joy, and will eventually become part-owner of the Princess Bar. Seraph, unimpressed with Logan's attitude, takes him under her wing. In Madripoor Logan meets a woman known only as Seraph, proprietor of the Princess Bar. He does so and is sent overseas to Madripoor. They find a feral Logan in the woods and convince him to return. Afterwards, at Romulus's bidding Cyber and Sabretooth track him down. Cyber murders Logan's girlfriend when confronted, Cyber brutally beats Logan and gouges out one of his eyes.
In this new life, Logan begins to find love again. Logan's commanding officer is a super humanly strong man known as Silas Burr, who will one day become the mercenary Cyber. Logan's abilities quickly call him to the attention of the authorities, and he is assigned to a special unit of the Canadian military known as the Devil's Brigade. Defeating Lazaer gave Logan the chance to fight him again should he ever die, allowing him to return to life. They soon begin to fight one another, with Lazaer initially gaining the upper hand.Īfter being impaled with Lazaer's sword, Logan pulls it from his chest and stabs it through the chest of his surprised opponent. Lazaer is an anagram of Azrael the Angel of Death. While fighting in Belgium on April 22, 1915, Logan has his first encounter with a being called Lazaer. Since the X-Force and the X-Men exist in the same universe, naturally the question came up of whether all these mutant characters could someday appear in a single film.Around 1914, Logan travels into more populated areas of Canada, eventually joining the Army.Ĭanada's armed forces become involved in World War 1. Jackman's Wolverine has anchored the franchise since its inception, and X-23 could help fill the niche that he'll leave behind. In the comics, X-23 is the result of an experiment to clone Wolverine, and therefore has most of the same powers and a similarly tragic backstory. But Singer's comments add some credence to recent rumors that X-23 could make her debut in that movie. Wolverine probably won't be available to come out and play in X-Force, since 2017's Wolverine 3 will be Hugh Jackman's last outing as the character.
WOLVERINE X FORCE MOVIE
Deadpool and Colossus just starred together in Deadpool and Psylocke makes her live-action movie debut in X-Men: Apocalypse, so the time seems ripe for an X-Force team-up. However, key members have included Deadpool, Colossus, Psylocke, Cable, and Wolverine. As with any long-running comic book superhero team, the lineup has changed several times over the years. "I actually initially pitched the X-Force and the female." However, Singer himself is not heavily involved with X-Force at this time, as post- Apocalypse, he's turning all of his attention to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.Ĭreated by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza, the X-Force are a team of superpowered mutants - but compared to the X-Men, they're darker, meaner, and more aggressive. Singer additionally teased the possibility of X-23 joining the team. "I have discussed that with the studio," he said. "Simon is in the earliest script stage, so that's kind of where that stands, and we'll see how it evolves," he said. The version of the project didn't get very far, but Singer says efforts on an X-Force movie are still ongoing.
WOLVERINE X FORCE UPDATE
The last serious update we got on the X-Force movie was in 2013, when we heard Jeff Wadlow had been hired to write and possibly direct. And what's more, that it may feature the fan-favorite comic book character X-23, essentially a female clone of Wolverine.įandango got the X-Force update from Singer. X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has revealed that the X-Men spinoff is still in the works, with Simon Kinberg already hard at work on the script. The on-again, off-again development process for Fox's X-Force movie seems to be back on again.
